About US

Women’s Health and Equal Rights (WHER) Initiative is a not for profit, LB (lesbian and bisexual) led organisation, focused on promoting the rights and well-being of lesbian, bisexual and queer (LBQ) women in Nigeria by addressing the psychosocial effect of the dual discrimination faced by LBQ women and their under-representation in Nigeria.

Emergency Response Initiative

Our organization WHER is happy to launch the Emergency Response Initiative (ERI Support) for LGBTIQ Community in Nigeria. The overall goal of this project is to contribute to the promotion of the human rights of LGBTIQ people in Nigeria by building their resilience and supporting them to handle and endure emergencies, crises, and shocks and to deepen their healing and wellness practices. We will be providing emergency safety and security, healing, health and wellbeing, temporary shelter, legal, psychosocial support services to LGBTIQ people in Nigeria. This emergency support is also open for organizations who wish to sustain their emergency shelter or respond to LGBTIQ people at risk.
